Centrul de Cercetare în Domeniul Studiilor Israeliene "Goldstein Goren" s-a născut în mai 2012 din dorinţa membrilor fondatori, profesori şi cercetători din România şi din străinătate, de a pune bazele primei structuri româneşti care să promoveze un domeniu de studii şi cercetare apărut relativ recent în mediul academic internaţional: studiile israeliene. Dat fiind caracterul prin definiţie multi- şi inter-disciplinar al noului domeniu, Centrul reuneşte experţi din diverse ramuri ştiinţifice, de la istorie şi ştiinţe politice la istoria religiilor, studii de securitate ori lingvistica semitică. Din octombrie 2013 poartă numele de Centrul de Cercetare in Domeniu Studiilor Israeliene “Goldstein Goren”.
The "Goldstein Goren" Center for Israel Studies was established in May 2012 from the desire of its founding members, professors and researchers from Romania and abroad, to set forth the bases of the first Romanian structure designed to promote a newly emerging field in the international academia: Israeli studies. Given the default multi- and inter-disciplinary character of the new field, the Center brings together experts from various scholarly domains, from history and political science to history of religions, security studies or Semitic linguistics. Since October 2013 it is officially known the “Goldstein Goren” Center for Israel Studies.
