Ryszard Kapuscinki Development Lectures is a joint program of the European Commission, the United Nations Development Programme, partner universities and think tanks, which offer an unprecedented opportunity to learn and discuss with top global thinkers development issues such as climate change, human rights, aid effectiveness, Europe-Africa relations or the Millennium Development Goals.

Within the program, each year around a dozen partners host a such a lecture, which is livestreamed worldwide at 

These high-level events contribute to the debate and formulation of the European development policy.

Speakers include some of the world's most influential leaders, practitioners and scolars such Aun San Suu Kyi, Ashraf Ghani, Paul Collier, Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, Angel Gurria (OECD), and Andris Piebalgs (European Commission). 

The FSPUB, through its ProRISE program, has been a member of the Kapuscinski network from its creation in 2009 and hosted a record number of three lectures: 
  • Crown Prince Haakon of Norway, UNDP Goodwill Ambassador (2009);
  • Paul Collier, University of Oxford (2011);
  • Owen Barder, Center for Global Development, Washington (2012).
