Brad MCGUIRE is a Vice Consul at the US Embassy in Bucharest, Romania. He has previously served as the Press and Information Officer at the US Embassy in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. Before joining the United States Foreign Service, he worked as the Congressional Editor and Acting Washington Editor at the American public affairs television network C-SPAN, and as Managing Editor of C-SPAN.org. He has also worked as a senior copywriter for the website of the world’s largest hospitality company, Marriott International, as well as the media development director for the technology start-up company The Urbanite Network. Mr. McGuire has a bachelor’s and law degree from Georgetown University in Washington DC, and a master’s degree from the Newhouse School of Journalism at Syracuse University.

Created in 2009 as pilot project and since 2013 part of the Centre for International Cooperation and Development Studies (IDC), ProRISE aims to create opportunities for critical reflection and complementary training in international studies in order to facilitate the job market access for the students of the Faculty of Political Science, University of Bucharest. 

branded project of ProRISE, Tea with a diplomat is a series of informal talks with diplomats who offer their perspective on international affairs, as well as on the features, prospects and potential of the jobs in the fied. Tea and hot chocolate are available for all participants.  

The March 7 event, organized with the support of the US Embassy in Bucharest within its Meet America project, is restricted to FSPUB students, upon registration through the brief form at the end of this announcement. Due to the limited number of available seats, participants are kindly asked to arrive with at least a quarter of hour in advance.
