Dr. Dragoş C. Mateescu is currently a Visiting Fellow Professor at the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest. A former lecturer in international relations and European studies at the Izmir University of Economics, Turkey (2002-2020), he specializes in the external relations of the European Union and the dynamics of international politics in the European Neighborhood region. He holds a PhD in International Relations and European Studies from Nottingham Trent University (UK) and is also an alumnus of the BA in Political Science in English of the University of Bucharest (Romania). Previously, he also was a military officer in the Romanian Armed Forces (special operations, 1991-2001).

The event is offered as an extra curricular activity complementing the course Politics and Governance in Asia and Australasia (Assoc. Prof. Luciana Alexandra Ghica) within the BA program in International Relations and European Studies (Faculty of Political Science, University of Bucharest)

Students from other programs, especially those specialising in international affairs, are welcome.

The presentation and the discussions will take place in English. While the discussion will be live on Facebook, the opportunity to ask questions will be offered primarily to students enrolled in the course and / or in the international relations programs of the faculty.

ISEDUGATE is a platform that aims to support the community of international studies developed primarily around the teaching staff, students and alumni of the BA in International Relations and European Studies and MIPA - Master in International Public Affairs (University of Bucharest, Faculty of Political Science - FSPUB).

An initiative of the Centre for International Cooperation and Development Studies (IDC, within the FSPUB's Department of Comparative Governance and European Studies), ISEDUGATE offers since October 2020 access to various resources, news and opportunities relevant for the community's members.
