The Political Science Club (formerly known as The SPE Nation Club) invites the intrested public to The Heritage of the Silk Road, a presentation by Ravshanbek Abdurahimov, FSPUB student.

Many have heard or read about the Silk Road and its purposes but few know much about the history and impact of this major trade route stretching from China to the Black Sea. Perhaps even less know about the region's culture and civilization, education, religion or administration. Five current Central Asian countries are particularly linked the route: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan. Young states, which won their independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union, they are virtually unknown to many outside the region despite their increasingkly significant role in world politics. The presentation will cover general aspects of this region, treated in a historical context and with relevance for contemporary politics.

The Political Science Club is an initiative of the FSPUB students from the English language study programmes.

All students are welcomed at the Club’s public events.
